ESSIAC TEA INGREDIENTS:
SHEEP SORREL
Rene Caisse felt this herb was the most active cancer fighter among all the herbs present in the old Indian brew. For hundreds of years sheep sorrel has appeared in historical archives in both America and Europe as a remedy for cancer (The Essiac Report book by Richard Thomas). Rene Caisse observed that not only was sheep sorrel effective in attacking and breaking down tumors, it also was effective in alleviating many chronic conditions and degenerative diseases. The seeds of sheep sorrel steeped in wine have been used to stop hemorrhages and heavy menstrual flow. In addition the seed contain an anti venomous property that relieves bites and rids the body of poisons.
Sheep sorrel contains high amounts of vitamins A&B-complex. Other health-giving elements in sheep sorrel are the carotenoids and chlorophyll. Chlorophyll, the substance which makes plants green, resembles hemoglobin in human blood. And like hemoglobin carries oxygen to every cell in your body.
Chlorophyll has been reported to:
-
Inhibit chromosome damage and this action may effectively block cancer.
-
Increase your resistance to X rays.
-
Eliminate germs and inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria
-
Stimulate the regeneration of fresh tissue.
-
Purifies the liver and relieves pancreas inflammation
-
Raises the oxygen level in the tissue cells
-
Cleanses the walls of blood vessels.
-
Strengthens the cell walls.
Increasing oxygen at the cellular level may be vital in eliminating cancer. Otto Warbur in the 1930?s demonstrated that cancer cannot grow rapidly in the presence of oxygen. His theory was that cancer is a process of cell mutation engendered by a lack of oxygen at the cellular level. Because chlorophyll increases the oxygen content of the blood, it may decrease cell mutation and counteract cancer. Research at the Linus Pauling Institute and Anderson Hospital in Texas has shown that chlorophyll juice produces some immunity against many carcinogens and strengthens the immune system (The Essiac Report book by Richard Thomas).
BURDOCK ROOT
Burdock Root has been known throughout the centuries to natural healers to be a powerful blood purifier. In 1966 two Hungarian scientists reported ?considerable anti-tumor activity? in purified fraction of burdock. In 1984 Japanese scientists discovered a substance in burdock root capable of reducing cell mutation, either in the absence or in the presence of metabolic activation. As a blood purifier burdock root may clear congestion in the circulatory, lymphatic, respiratory and urinary systems.. It can help eliminate excess fluids in the body and stimulate the elimination of toxic waste materials which can relieve liver disorders and improve digestion. It can cleanse the body of bile, detoxify the kidneys and gall bladder. Burdock root is rich in vitamins, B-complex, E., and P. It contains chromium, cobalt, iron magnesium, phosphorus, silicon zinc, sodium and potassium.
Burdock root also contains Inulin. Inulin helps strengthen the organs and its natural sugar content helps regulate blood sugar metabolism. Inulin reportedly is a powerful immune modulator because it is said to hook onto the surface of white blood cells and make them work better.
SLIPPERY ELM BARK
Slippery Elm Bark is one of the world?s best known herbal remedies. It main component is mucilage. Mucilage is a naturally formed sticky fiber which consists of a gum dissolved in the juices of a plant. It?s similar to that found in flax seed. This sticky substance dissolves mucus that has been deposited in organ tissue, lymph glands and nerve channels. It?s lubricating action protects and softens membrane linings in the body, especially inflamed and damaged areas. This substance also lubricates the bones and joints and gathers the dissolved toxic waste from all areas in the body including the bowel and then helps the body to discharge them. Slippery Elm Bark can help with ulcers and eventually heal them by restoring mucous coating to irritated areas.
"I can personally attest to Slippery Elm helping with my stomach and colon. Just before I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, my stomach felt like it was on fire. I began to swell with fluid. With my Herbalist training I knew to take slippery elm powder in water 3 times a day. Within just 2 weeks I felt so much better and could eat again." - Agi Lidle
RHUBARB ROOT
Rhubarb Root is also a detoxifying herb. As early as 220 B.C. the Chinese were using rhubarb as a medicine because they believed it to eliminate excess heat from the small intestines. According to Chinese medicine excessive heat in the intestines was a sign of toxins in the blood, which they felt was responsible for many diseases.
-
Purges the body of bile, parasites and stagnating food by stimulating the gall duct to expel toxic waste matter.
-
Improves digestion and increases appetite.
-
Can help heal ulcers.
-
Help disorders of the spleen and colon.
-
Relieve constipation and hemorrhoids
Rhubarb root contains antibiotic, antimicrobial and antitumor properties. It also contains concentrated amounts of vitamins and minerals.
"I recommend reading "The Essiac Report" book by Thomas Richard the information and testimonies are very hopeful." |
